Verified Reviewer |Shuttle driver threatened me
On 3-18-24, 7:00 am, I waited for the shuttle driver to come to the van so that he could take me to the airport, but he wasn't there. I put 4 luggage in the van myself since the rear door was unlocked, sat in the van and waited.
He eventually came to the van looking disheveled, so I assumed he had been sleeping. No problem, since it is a hotel. When he dropped me off, he made a motion as if he was going to drive off when I got out of the van. He didnt even open the door for me, but stayed behind the wheel.
I figured he was going to drive off, assume that I didnt have any luggage, since he didn't know I put them in the van already. I told him not to drive off because I have luggage in the back and he said ok. So I waited and waited in the back of the van thinking he was going to get out to help me with my luggage, but he didnt. I opened the van door and started retrieving my luggage, while watching him still sit in the drivers seat.
I decided to ask him if it was customary for drivers to not help passengers with their luggage and he stated they do help, but he never left the driver seat. I guess he thought about it and decided to get out to help but once he saw that I had retrieved all the luggage myself, he said, let me get the door! I told him that I would have tipped him had he helped, but he didnt and I then walked into the airport. When I flew back later that night, I called Residence Inn-Marriott, 8600 Esters Blvd, Irving Texas, to come pick me up, but I asked to have another driver this time.
The guy who answered the phone at the counter, Mario, told me that its the same driver from this morning. I asked if he had dreadlocks and Mario said yes. I told Mario that I wanted to file a complaint against the driver and I gave him the story of what happened this morning, but Mario was laughing while I was telling him the story, and said hed pass the message along to the manager. Mario said the driver was on his way to pick me up.
The driver came and he put my luggage in the van for me. He then got in the van and he aggressively said, Now look! I apologize about this morning, but I don't appreciate you disrespecting me!!! I asked him how did I disrespect him and he then said, Im talking about everything you said when you called the hotel.
Im from the streets and I don't appreciate you disrespecting me! I took that as a verbal threat because of his aggressive manner and letting me know he grew up in a tough neighborhood as if hed show me a thing or two. It was late at night and he and I were the only ones in the van and he was EXTREMELY ANGRY!!! As a former female police officer, I knew I had to get back tough with him to show him that he wasn't going to intimidate me as if I was weak because Im a female and we were alone in that van.
I immediately began thinking he could have taken me anywhere and no one would have know where I was and he could do the unthinkable to me! So I dished out more aggression than what he gave and caught him off guard and he knew then I wasnt going to back down without a fight. I started yelling back at him, that he had no business confronting me, a customer, about a complaint that I confidentially made against him and that I was going to report Mario for telling him everything I said. That is when the driver realized I would give him push back, calmed down, lowered his voice and revealed that he was in the room when I made the call to the hotel and Mario had put the conversation on speaker and allowed him to listen to my entire conversation of my complaint against him!!!
This could have been a very dangerous situation, Mario allowing the driver to hear my complaint against him and then allowing the driver to come pick me up in the height of his anger towards me! This was unsafe as a female traveling alone late at night in a van with an angry stranger/driver. When we got to the hotel, he got out of the van and quickly rushed inside. As I was going inside with my luggage, Mario hurried and was coming outside to meet me, so clearly the driver told him something.
I immediately told him that I felt threatened in that van by the driver and that I almost called the cops while I was in the van. I told Mario that I had to act tough in the van to let the driver know that Im from the streets, too and that I was going to report him for allowing the driver to listen to my complaint against him. I told Mario that I didn't care how late it was, I needed him to call his manager ASAP!!! Mario called someone who he said is the manager and gave me his cell phone so I could tell him what happened.
The manager was silent after listening, so I asked him for the corporate office phone number, which he said he didnt know the number. I then asked Mario for the number and he also said he didnt know it. I told them that Id find another Residence Inn and get the number from them. It should be noted that Ive been living in this hotel for 2 weeks now because my home was flooded and my insurance company anticipate me being here for 4-6 months.
Today, 3-19-24, my insurance company automatically call at the end of each week to extend my stay for an additional week. I was notified by them that they called this hotel to extend, but was told that Id have to check out after this week because the hotel is COMPLETELY booked now and they have no more rooms!!! When I got in tonight, I stopped at the front desk to get another key card to my room and I asked Mario once again about calling corporate, at which he stated again that he doesnt have the number, but apologized for not knowing it. Later tonight, I wanted to check to see if the hotel was completely booked.
I called Mario at the front desk, he advised that the hotel is NOT booked and I asked him to add another week to my account, which he stated he did and I was all set. Because Mario works the late night shift at the counter, he's probably unaware that my insurance company called early this morning, was denied extending my stay, due to the hotel being overbooked which is why he extended my stay in the system and confirmed to me that the hotel was not completely booked.
Because I was denied access to the corporate office number, Ive not received a follow up phone call from the manager to see how Im doing after the scary situation with his driver, their lack of concern and my insurance company was not able to renew my extended stay, I believe Residence Inn is trying to cover up what could have been a criminal situation by silencing me, hence, not renewing my weekly stay, which is costing them a loss of $893.34 per week. A six month stay would be a profit loss of $21,463.20!!!

Ive been staying at this very nice hotel that I actually had came to love last few days my husband and I and today we just so happen to sleep in a little bit and woke up to an angry staff member who is 100% Adaline and when about everything the wrong way Stating that we need to leave and were not able to come back because we didnt choose to pay at the front counter instead of through Priceline because it was cheaper on Priceline so therefore that makes them have to check us in and check us out and check us back in which apparently causes red flags they said And they are long-term stay hotel not for people who check in day by day and treated us like third class citizens who werent worth anything, because with our housecleaning business, were only able to pay day by day therefore not being rich enough to pay for a week at a time, so I guess thats grounds for them to say that we are setting up red flags looking suspect of what were looking suspect were not sure, but that

They have been charging us extra every day for the deposit Which is supposed to be $20 but today they said that since we are only paying day by day that they are going and now up to $40 a day and that when they ran the card that it only got charged for 20 bucks but it really got charged for 40 which we showed them and they still argued and said that it only took 20 and they wanted 20 more dollars.
We said that we couldnt afford it at the time and that we try to get it to him later that day but I know its illegal for them to be doing this.
And she said that she would let this slide again like its happened before when it hasnt and its clear that theyre literally just trying to get us out of here to the point where I dont even want to be here because I feel like theyre just gonna keep trying to target us my wife is in tears and my wife asked what she did wrong andshe said that they dont how many accommodations for people that are staying just the day at a time and that were just a waste of time. Does that seem very professional?

They’re judgmental for no reason and want to act like they’re better than others because they work at a hotel when I guarantee you they couldn’t afford to spend $130 a day on top of $40 a day for Deposit which is supposed to be $20 Which means they’re pocket 20 bucks. Hence how they just let us know that they were struggling we would’ve tipped him $20 because that’s the type of people we are.

Still haven't gotten back my 103$ in deposits from days ago.

I am a Marriott Reward member, I checked into the resident Inn in Rockford Illinois on February 25. The front desk informed me there was parking fees at three dollars, I stayed there two years ago and there were no parking fees on February 26.
I talked to the general manager about the parking fees and he informed me that theyre trying to make money from the pandemic and there is a casino across the street and the people from the casino are parking in their parking lot, so the guest at their hotel are getting ripped off at three dollars a day because we happen to pick their hotel. Its a disgrace your parking right next to the hotel.
I would never go back there again as a Marriott member Im very disappointed there are not a lot of Marriott hotels in Rockford Illinois just three so now I have to pick from the other two because I will be back. I do have family there , its totally wrong to charge your customers just because they happen to pick your hotel and have a vehicle so they can park its a disgrace.

I arrived December 23,2023. My check-out was scheduled for December 25,2023.
I tried to extend the reservation for another night. Jasmine Patterson(Manager on Duty) informed I would have to switch rooms even though I had already stayed two nights. I moved to another hotel. I was charged even though I wasnt there.
I have had numerous conversations with Patterson and nothing has been resolved. I should have received $337.20 credited back to my account. As a customer it shouldnt take so long to return a customers money. It doesnt a company 3-5 days to take your money.
This was so unprofessional. I will never stay at another Marriott.
User's recommendation: Please watch your account. There are people at the front desk that will cause problems with your account, and they will not care. I understand why people don’t like giving their card information to various businesses. My vacation was ruined due to this incident.

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Kebria Hezaveh and I recently stayed at Residence Inn Marriott Gaithersburg during the months of October and November 2023, in the following address:
9721 Washingtonian Blvd, Gaithersburg, MD 20878.
I attempted to contact the hotel on the evening of December 26th, 2023, at 9:30 pm to request the hotel bills for the aforementioned months.
After a 5-minute wait on hold, I spoke with an employee named Sidney, who treated me impolitely and exhibited impatience during our conversation. When I inquired about the reason for his demeanor, he responded by stating that he was alone at the moment and that there were others waiting.
I must express my disappointment with the level of service provided by Sidney. As a guest, I believe that the treatment of clients is of utmost importance, and the manner in which I was addressed was unsatisfactory.
Furthermore, Sidney assured me that he would send the bills promptly; however, I have not yet received them. I require the hotel bills urgently for my records.
I understand that situations may arise, but I believe it is crucial for the hotel to consider the demeanor of its staff, particularly those at the reception desk.
Could you please expedite the process of sending the hotel bills for the months of October and November 2023 to my email address (Kebria.hezaveh@***.com. Alternatively, if there is a specific process or contact person I should follow up with, kindly provide the necessary information.

I booked a room specifically for an enjoyable night in the jacuzzi. I confirmed this location had a jacuzzi available and was working prior to booking, when I booked and was even informed to call when I arrived and checked in to check again.
Which I did, and was told it was hot today. I went to my room , got dressed for the jacuzzi and as I entered , a sign stating the jacuzzi was out of service welcomed me. Very unprofessional and unpleasant.
I understand things happen, but I confirmed not once, not twice but three times that the jacuzzi was available and working. Im very disappointed and think a free night when the jacuzzi in fact IS back in service, is justifiable

Good morning, My name is Rafe Miller, My wife Monique Miller and I were victims of a theft break in of my wife's vehicle on 08/18/2023 while using the onsite Valet parking of your property at Residence Inn by Marriott
800 N Wolfe St #16, Baltimore, MD 21205.
We were attending a rooftop event and we were handing the Valet parking lot attendant our parking pass we were alerted that our vehicle and one other person vehicle were badly damaged.
After our vehicle was returned to us by the Residence Inn Park lot Valet attendant we immediately notified the manager onsite about the incident. My wife and I also immediately called the Baltimore city Police Department to report the break in.
Both my wife and I inspected our vehicle and notice multiple item stolen and attempting to be stolen. A designer men's watch and sunglasses were stolen. I am a Police officer, both my wife and I legally carry firearms. My wife's firearm was in the lock box on the floor underneath the passenger seat.
The lock box was badly damaged in the attempt to remove the firearm inside.
We are expecting Marriott to repair our vehicle and compensation for our stolen items. We are victims of this theft on your property that is an extreme inconvenience to our lives.
I am requesting a internal investigation of this inconvenient situation for both my wife and I and would greatly appreciate information of your findings into this matter.
Pictures of the damages to our vehicle and items/weapon lock box are available upon request.
User's recommendation: The camera's doesn't work in their parking lot per the investigation and was told they are responsible for any items stolen by the Valet manager "Jose" and refused to give us any claim contact information. We are still waiting for Marriott manager at that location to repond to e-maiil and phone calls also the corporate office. Lila was told to be the onsite manager who will call us back.

No one likes you and the place is better off without your negative self. And you wonder why you're hated...
